Conventional blanking is a shearing process in which a workpiece is separated
from the parent material when the punch enters the die.
Process Characteristics
 | Shears the workpiece from the parent stock as the

 | Produces burnished and sheared section on the cut
edge |
 | Produces burred edges |
 | Quality is controlled by the punch and die
clearance |
