Internal grinding is an abrasive machining process by which small chips of
material are removed from an internal surface or hole by means of a plain or
formed grinding wheel. The workpiece may be held in either a chucking-type
or centerless-type workholding device.
Process Characteristics
Is applicable on internal surfaces or holes
Produces close tolerances and smooth surfaces
Can produce nonsymmetrical parts by using auxiliary holding
devices
