In hot dip coating, the workpiece is
submerged in a vat of molten metal. When the workpiece is removed
from the vat, a layer of the coating metal has bonded to it.

submerged workpiece
Typically utilizes source metals with a low melting
point
Is a relatively inexpensive way to coat a
workpiece, but coating is thick and uneven
