Chemical Degreasing

Chemical degreasing is a cleaning process that uses chemicals to remove foreign substances from the surface of the workpiece.  The workpiece is usually submerged in a chemical bath where the chemical attacks the surface of the workpiece.  If a workpiece is left in the chemical long enough, its surface will be slightly etched.
